At this point in human civilization, our species is uniquely positioned to leave a better world for generations to come. The resources and tools available (particularly in first world economies) offer an exciting opportunity to do good. To make the best possible contribution to that, we founded Effective Altruism Geneva - a non-profit built on a single question:
How can we use our resources to do the most good?
Effective altruism is the research field which aims to find the best possible answers to this question. It means using high-quality evidence and careful reasoning to work out how to help others as much as possible. It is also a community of people taking these answers seriously, focusing their efforts on the most promising solutions to the world's most pressing problems.
