Applied Rationality Practice Group

We want to learn how to reliably acquire more accurate beliefs (epistemic rationality) and how to more reliably achieve our goals (instrumental rationality).

Human intelligence is impressive but imperfect. We repeat mistakes and jump to conclusions. We fail to follow through on our goals and turn opportunities for collaboration into painful zero-sum games.

But sometimes we catch mistakes before they happen. Sometimes we can control our inner monkey. How? Learning to do so more often is what this group is about.

We regularly come together to explore concepts and practice techniques that systematically aim to improve our overall thinking and well-being. Some of it is well-researched, some less so - we clearly flag confidence levels and experiments.

We make sure that everyone feels comfortable in the group. If you are interested, please apply and we will see whether we can integrate you well.
